May 1, 1943 - January 18, 2018

Mason City - Sharon Ann Stokesbary, 74, of Mason City, died Thursday, January 18, 2018 at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at the Wesley United Methodist Church, 1405 South Pennsylvania Ave, with the Rev. Steve Hansen officiating. Interment will follow in the Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 until 7 PM Monday at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 North Pennsylvania Ave.

Sharon was born May 1. 1943 in Mason City, Iowa the daughter of Earl and Ruth (Jurgemeyer) Bachman. She was raised in the Klemme area and attended and graduated from Klemme High School. Following high school, Sharon continued her education at Hamilton Business College. On June 22, 1963 Sharon was united in marriage to Jerome "Jerry" Stokesbary in Klemme Iowa.

Sharon's family was number one to her, she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She loved to sit and paint with them and always encouraged that they express their talents. She was very crafty and enjoyed doing ceramics, painting and making cards, Sharon had a great ability to write letters and used her talents to keep her pen pal relationships up. In her later years she relied on her computer and would get wound up if wasn't working properly. Sharon was a collector of Percious Monents, member of the card club, a former Girl Scout leader and was an avid reader, especially of novels.

As Sharon and Jerry raised thier family they spent summers in Clear Lake and always enjoyed attending the 4th of July festivities. During the holidays she looked forward to making candy and baking with her family. Over the years Sharon and Jerry went on many snowmobile trips with friends. She loved the outdoors, animals and her Beagles.

Those thankful for having shared in Sharon's life include her husband, Jerry; children Steven (Kim) Stokesbary, Sandra (Brent) Schupanitz, Stacie (Erica) Stokesbary; nine grandchildren, Abbigayle, Andrew, Samantha, Nickolas, Maggie, Isabel, Benjamin, Ashlynn, Braeden; one brother, Ronald (Janice) Bachman; niece, Debra Bachman and several nieces and nephews.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents and one nephew Douglas Bachman.
