Glenn Blumer

Funeral services for Glenn Blumer, 53, of St. Paul, Minn., were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 25, 1988 at the United Methodist Church in Klemme, Iowa. Rev. Herb Shafer officiated and music was provided by Mrs. Madelyn Priebe at the organ and Bev Thorson and Gordon Beier sang "There Is a Wideness in God's Mercy," and "Near to the Heart of God."

Pallbearers were William Neuberger, Jr., Dean Neuberger, Lyle Goll, Harry Anderson, Harold Blumer and Joe Gibbs.

Glenn Merlin Blumer, son of Walter C. and Christina Mae (Neuberger) Blumer, was born March 13, 1935 in Liberty Township, Hancock County, Iowa. He was baptized in the Liberty Methodist Church on July 12, 1936, and confirmed in 1947, in the Klemme Methodist Church. Glenn attended schools in Avery Township and Klemme Community, and graduated from Klemme in 1952.

Following graduation he worked for his father and in the Klemme area until attending Iowa State University from which he received a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering in 1959.

Glenn was united in marriage to Darlene Janice Eichorn on April 15, 1961 at the First English Lutheran Church in Iowa City.

During his career Glenn worked for the Kellogg Division of ATT in Chicago, and Honeywell and Control Data in the Twin Cities area. He also received a Master of Science Degree from the University of Minnesota in 1970.

Glenn and his wife died at their home in St. Paul on May 16.

Survivors include brothers Leo of Etowah, N.C., and Ivan of Omaha, Neb; sisters: Mary Ann Schmidt of Klemme and Marlene Jacobs of Woodbury, Minn., as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Margie Wille.

Interment was at 2 p.m. in the Little Sioux Lutheran Cemetery in Milford with Rev. Tom Groth officiating.

Arrangements were by the Tenold Funeral Homes of Klemme-Belmond.
