Ames - Lois Ann Johanns, 66, of
Ames, died Monday (Dec. 8, 2003) at her home. Burial will be in the Ames
Municipal Cemetery. Lois Ann Johanns was born March 18, 1937, to Edward and Ann
(Merkel) Christians. Lois married Joe Johanns in Osage at the Sacred Heart
Catholic Church on Aug. 13, 1956.
She is survived by her husband, Joe Johanns, of Ames; daughter, Denise (Rodger)
Lovig, of Story City; daughter, Karen (David) Burgus, of Osceola; son, Alan
(Kristine) Johanns, of San Diego, Calif.; daughter, Sharon (Joe) Schwabe, of
Denver, Colo.; daughter, Nancy (Mark) Shaw, of Ames; and son, Joel Johanns, of
Ames; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, Raymond (Julie)
Christians, of Joplin, Mo.; brother, James (Gail) Christians, of Grand Rapids,
Mich.; sister-in-law, Bonnie (Clarence) Christians, of Klemme; sister-in-law,
Jan (Ed) Kodet, of Minneapolis, Minn.; mother-in-law, Rose Johanns, of Osage.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one child; grandson, Michael David
Burgus; and brother, Clarence Christians.
