Gail Marie (Cunningham) Bailey

1955 - 2001

Gail Marie (Cunningham) Bailey, 45, of Rowan, died Sunday, June 10, 2001, near Sanborn with her husband Lynn, as a result of injuries received in an auto accident. Funeral services were held Thursday, June 14, 2001 at the Belmond-Klemme High School Gymnasium with Pastor Patrick Kennedy officiating. Burial was in Graceland Cemetery, Rowan. Music was provided by Linda Dlouhy, pianist, Marilyn Janssen, soloist and David Dittmer, bagpipes.

Gail, the daughter of Harold and Marcella (Green) Cunningham was born on December 8, 1955, at the Belmond Hospital. Gail graduated from Klemme High School in 1974. On July 9, 1976 she married David Lange. They made their home in rural Goodell. Gail would later attend NIACC and graduate with a Nursing Degree in 1992. Gail worked as a registered nurse at the Westview Care Center and later worked as Director of Nursing at the Kanawha Community Nursing Home. Gail married Lynn Bailey on July 8, 2000 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. They made their home in Rowan. She enjoyed photography, sewing and cooking, and loved to garden. Gail loved spending time with family and enjoyed entertaining friends and family. A devoted church member, Gail belonged to the Evangelical Free Church in Belmond. She was a member of Seed Savers Exchange, a Master Gardener and was a member of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association.

Survivors include her two daughters: Bethany Lange and her fiancé, Matt Reineke of Estherville and Melanie Lange of Ames; her parents, Harold and Marcella Cunningham of Goodell; three sisters: Sharon Millage and her husband, Don of Ames, Tracey Mikesh and her husband, Bill, of Franklin, Massachusetts, Corrine VandeVegte and her husband, Jeff of Rock Valley, Iowa; two brothers: Dwight Cunningham of Goodell and Marc Cunningham and his wife, Silvia of Portsmouth, Virginia; step-son, Shane Bailey and wife, Lorell of Goldfield; three step-grandchildren: Heather, Patrick and Michael Bailey; and several nieces and nephews.
