Vivian June Greiman was born on June 25, 1926, in Dows, Iowa, the daughter
of Herman and Sophia (Peterson) Kreitlow. At just 3˝ years old, she faced
the loss of her mother, leaving her father with ten children to raise
alone. As the youngest of the Kreitlow siblings, Vivian was lovingly
adopted by her aunt Clara and uncle Harvey Harberts. Vivian's education
took place at country schools in the Klemme area, culminating in her
graduation from Klemme High School in 1943. After completing her
education, she dedicated herself to helping her family on the farm. In
1944, at the Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake, she met the love of her life,
Wayne Greiman. Their union on October 31, 1946, at the Peace Reformed
parsonage south of Garner marked the beginning of a beautiful partnership
for 60 years. For 25 years, Vivian and Wayne made their home on the family
farm south of Garner, later moving to a farm near Goodell in 1971.
Throughout her children's formative years, she remained actively engaged
in their lives, notably through her support of 4-H projects, and she
derived great joy from working outdoors on the farm and being Wayne’s
constant right hand. Her family will lovingly remember and always miss her
deep love for sweets, her spunky sense of humor and her unmatched ability
to tell a story.
She was an active member of Peace Reformed Church, where she taught Sunday
school and served for many years as an officer of the Ladies Missionary
Society. She also belonged to the O.D.O. Club in Klemme.
Vivian is survived by her children, Connie (Mark) Hill of Cedar Falls,
Fred (Gena) Greiman of Garner, and Denise (Jeff) Eilertson of Garner; her
son-in-law, Ken Busick of Mason City; grandchildren, Megan Hill, Dale
Busick, Brook Peterson, Gail (Jeremy) Gouge, Jamie (Nick) Christensen,
Luke Greiman, Nick (Annette) Eilertson, and Carrie Eilertson; 17
great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; along with many nieces and
nephews.

away in 2007; her daughter, Carole Busick; son, Dennis Greiman; an infant
son, Merlin; grandson, Chad Hill; granddaughter, Andrea Young; and her
siblings.
