Services for Irene Pehrson, 70, of Klemme, who died Sunday, Feb. 8 at Mercy
Hospital in Mason City, were held Wednesday, Feb. 11, 10:30 a.m. at the United
Methodist Church in Klemme with Rev. Herb Shafer and Rev. Barb Shafer
officiating.
Music was provided by Mrs. Margaret Katter, organist.
Casket bearers were men from the United Methodist Church.
Interment was in the Alden City Cemetery in Alden with Tenold Funeral Homes in
charge of arrangements.
Irene (Harms) Pehrson, the daughter of Herman W. sand Alma Anna (Hafermann)
Harms, was born April 29, 1916 at Alden. Her mother died when she was three
weeks old and she lived with her paternal grandparents until she was ten years
old. She made her home with her aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Thomas of
Klemme. She graduated from Klemme High School in 1933 and attended Iowa State
Teachers College. She then taught in rural and elementary schools in Iowa.
She was married to Vernon Pehrson and to this union two sons were born.
She is survived by two sons, Russell Pehrson of Klemme and John Pehrson of
Wilmington, Del.; daughter-in-laws, Diane and Gloria and five grandsons; several
cousins and many friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
