Lois Ward, 49
Lois (Mrs. Roger) Ward, 49, of State Center died Thursday evening, Sept. 17 at
Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center following a lengthy illness.
Born Lois Heginger Jan. 9, 1938 at Klemme, she was the daughter of Carl and Etta
Harms Heginger. She received her education in Klemme.
On May 20, 1961, she was married to Roger Ward and they have always made their
home in State Center. She was a cosmetologist for a few years in State Center.
She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church and the Altar and Rosary
Society.
Preceding her in death were a son, Steven, in infancy, her parents and a
brother.
Surviving are her husband, Roger, and three daughters, Colleen and Katie Jo of
State Center and Theresa of Grinnell. Also surviving are five brothers and three
sisters.
Services will be Monday, Sept, 21 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church
with the Rev. Claude Norton officiating. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Saturday
at the Wensel-Perrin Funeral Home where an Altar and Rosary Society Rosary will
be held at 3 p.m. Sunday and a public Rosary at 7:30 p.m. Sunday.

Services for Lois Ward, 49, State Center former Klemme resident, who died
Thursday Sept. 17, 1987 at Marshalltown Hospital were held 10:30 a.m. Monday,
Sept. 21 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in State Center. Interment was in the
Ell Township Cemetery, Klemme.
Lois Ward was born January 9, 1938.
She is survived by her husband, Roger; three daughters, Colleen, Theresa, and
Katie Jo; three sisters, Mrs. John (Edna) VanGerpen, Center Point, Mrs. Ecko
(Sharon) Reysack, Klemme, Mrs. Jerry (Zelda) Scott, Clear Lake; six brothers,
LuVerne Heginger, Klemme, Lyle Heginger, Belmond, Carl Heginger, Klemme, Bill
Heginger, Goodell, Anthony Heginger, Klemme, and Rick Heginger, Clear Lake.
She was preceded in death by her son, Steven, a brother, Duane, and her parents,
Carl and Etta Heginger.
