Irene A. Heivilin
Mason City - Irene A. Heivilin. 80, 1308 N. Hampshire Ave., died Friday
(Dec. 14, 1990) at Heritage Care Center in Mason City.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at First United Methodist
Church, 119 S. Georgia Ave., with the Rev. Jerry Oakland officiating. Burial
will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3:30 to 8 p.m. today and until noon Monday at Major
Erickson Funeral Home, 209 2nd St. N.E., and one hour before services at the
church.
Memorials may be given to the Irene Heivilin Memorial Fund or the Heart
Foundation.
Mrs. Heivilin was born Oct. 26, 1910, in Klemme, to Joseph E. and Annie S.
(Carlson) Johnson. She attended and graduated from Klemme High School. She
married Edward S. Heivilin on Aug. 18, 1930, in Glenville, Minn. They farmed
near Klemme until they retired during 1948 and moved to Mason City. Irene
also helped as a election poll worker.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church. She was a church circle
member and a member of T.A.E. Study Club.
Survivors include on son, Thomas Heivilin of Fayetteville, Ga.; two
daughters, Mrs. Bruce (Gerry) Sharp, Evanston, Wyo., and Mrs. Gary (Diann)
Pellatz, Whitefish, Mont.; two sisters, Mrs. Ed (Mildred) Gantenbein,
Joplin, Mo., and Gertrude Hummel, Klemme; five grandchildren and one
great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward, in 1978; a
daughter, Donna; three sisters and three brothers.
