Al K. Kaduce, 68, of Urbandale, Iowa, died peacefully on Sunday, April 12,
2026.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 16, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at
Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home & Crematory in Urbandale. A memorial service
will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, April 17, at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church
in Urbandale, with inurnment to follow at McDivitt Grove Cemetery.
Al was born on August 9, 1957, to John and Esther (Knoke) Kaduce. He grew
up in Klemme, Iowa, and graduated from Klemme High School in 1975. He
later graduated from AIB College of Business in 1987. On September 9,
1978, Al married Dawn Pringnitz, and together they built a life grounded
in love, hard work, and a deep commitment to family. They raised two sons,
Michael and Adam, who carry forward his values of integrity, service, and
quiet strength.
Al was the founder and owner of Kaduce & Co., CPA, dedicating nearly 50
years to his profession. He built a respected practice rooted in trust,
integrity, and long-standing relationships, becoming a steady and reliable
advisor to generations of individuals, families, and businesses.
His commitment to service extended far beyond his work. Al served as
Treasurer of the Urbandale Chamber of Commerce for 25 years and was deeply
involved in numerous civic and charitable organizations. He was a member
of the Urbandale Breakfast Lions Club, honored numerous times for his
service, board member for the Urbandale Public Library Foundation, served
on the Urbandale Fourth of July Celebration committee for more than twenty
years, a graduate of Leadership Urbandale, and was actively involved with
the Shining City Foundation. In recognition of his lasting impact, Al was
honored as Urbandale Citizen of the Year in 2004 and was inducted into the
Urbandale Hall of Fame in 2024.
Al found joy in cheering on the Minnesota Twins and the Iowa Hawkeyes,
especially the Iowa women's basketball team, and attending Hawkeye
football games. He loved traveling with family and making memories at
numerous MLB parks. He valued family, friendships built over decades, and
the simple, meaningful moments that come from being present with the
people who matter most.
Al is survived by his loving wife, Dawn; sons, Michael and Adam; brothers,
Rick Kaduce and Verlyn (Mary) Kaduce; sister-in-law, Marcele Kaduce; and
mother-in-law, Bonita Pringnitz.
He was preceded in death by parents, John and Esther Kaduce, brother,
Carroll Kaduce, and sister-in-law Nancy Kaduce.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Shining City Foundation in
memory of Al.
