Theodore Kaduce Dies After Long
Illness
Funeral services for Theodore Kaduce, 36, were held at the Episcopalin Church in
Mason City, Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock with Rev. Alfred Malone in charge.
Following these services his body was sent to Auburn, California, where
graveside services will be held preceding burial.
Mr. Kaduce died last Wednesday morning, July 14, at the Veterans Hospital in
Iowa City where he had been receiving treatment for the past three months. His
illness was Hotchkins disease and he had suffered with it for the past two
years.
He and his family moved here from California in October of 1952, hoping that he
would find some benefit to his health. They moved onto the farm of his parents,
and at first is seemed that the outdoor work was going to do some good. However,
his illness soon began to assert itself and all the skill and knowledge of
medical science could only postpone his death.
Theodore Kaduce was born at Alexander on August 11, 1918, the son of Mr. and
Mrs. John Kaduce, Sr. He moved with his parents to a farm near Klemme and
received his education in the Klemme School, graduating with the class of 1937.
He served in the army for over four years during World War II, and it was while
on duty in California that he met and married his wife. The marriage was blessed
with two boys, Kenneth and Denis.
The family made their home in Auburn, California, where Mr. Kaduce was employed
in a dairy until they decided to move to Klemme in 1952.
Mr. Kaduce will be buried at Auburn, and it is there that his wife and the two
boys will make their home.
Surviving besides his wife and sons are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Kaduce,
Sr.; two brothers, John, Jr. of Lake Mills, and Leonard Kaduce of Klemme; two
sisters, Mrs. Duane Katter of McMinnville, Oregon and Mrs. Paul Lau of Garner;
and many other more distant relatives and friends.
