Cecil Benjamin Katter, the son of Ben and Minnie Fuller Katter, was born on
September 30, 1920 on a farm home north of Klemme, Iowa. He attended school in
Ventura, Minnesota, Hayfield and graduated from Klemme High school. He served
with, the United States Navy as a signalman during World War II.
He was united in marriage to Irene Becker on November 28, 1943 at the Klemme
United Church of Christ. To this union four children were born.
Cecil died at his farm home east of Klemme on Tuesday, October 20, 1981 at the
age of 61 years and 20 days.
He is survived by his wife Irene, his father Ben and stepmother Ruth of Bend,
Oregon, 3 sons and their wives. Lynn and Donna, Noel and Margaret, and Murray
and' Marsha; 1 daughter, Marla Katter of Clear Lake, Iowa; 4 grandchildren,
Melissa, Allison, Miekka and John; 2 brothers, Duane and Lyle of Bend, Oregon
He is preceded in death by his mother.
Cecil was very active in the National Holstein Association and was a director
for 3 years, served as President of the local Holstein Association, was
president of DHIA and was Sunday school superintendent at Peace Reformed Church.
He was a member United Methodist Church in Klemme, Iowa. He enjoyed very much
showing cattle all over Iowa and Wisconsin with his sons.
The family of Cecil Katter would like to thank the many people for the
kindnesses shown Cecil, the many expression of sympathy and for your attendance
at this service.

Funeral services for Cecil B. Katter, 61, who died Oct. 20 at his farm home east
of Klemme, were held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Oct 23, at the United Methodist
Church, Klemme. Rev. Don E. Griffin officiated and interment was in Ell Township
Cemetery.
Music was provided by Mrs. Robert Schulz, organist, and Mrs. George Gerdes,
soloist.
Casket bearers were Kenneth Grieman, Bernard Greiman, Valere Stromer, William
Katter, Wayne Greiman and Wiley Weaver.
