Alvin P. Keeper
Mason City - Alvin P. Keeper, 77, of 741 S. Illinois Ave., died Saturday
(July 18, 1992) at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Iowa City.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Fullerton
Patterson James Funeral Chapel, 123 Second St. S.E., Mason City. Officiating
will be Rev. Herb Shafer of the Grace United Methodist Church. Interment
will be at the Ell Township Cemetery at Klemme.
Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Monday at the Chapel.
Alvin was born on Sept. 16, 1914, at Klemme, the son of K. Henry and Meta
(Beckman) Keeper.
He graduated from the Klemme High School in 1934. He served in the Medical
Corps during World War II stationed with the 19th General Hospital in
Europe. He worked for Northern Construction and Supply and then as a
bartender for the Stew and Brew. He was a former member of the Reformed
Church in Klemme and a member of the VFW Post No. 733 of Mason City.
He is survived by one sister, Mrs. Erwin (Hilda) Lucas of Canoga Park,
Calif.; one brother, Raymond and his wife Irene Keeper of Mason City; and
many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Anna Keeper; and one
brother, Albert Keeper.
