Margarite Kay Eenhuis Connelly

1942 - 2021

 

Margarite Kay Eenhuis Connelly, 79, of Mason City, IA died on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at MercyOne North Iowa.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 from 5-7 p.m. at Fullerton Funeral Home, 123 2nd St SE, Mason City. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. with a one hour prior visitation on Thursday, October 28, 2021 at Fullerton Funeral Home with Rev. Charlie West officiating. A private family burial will take place at a later date.

Margarite was born on March 2, 1942 in Klemme, IA to Albert and Lucille Keeper. She was raised in Klemme and attended Klemme schools. After high school, Margarite married Melvin Eenhuis and they had 25 years of marriage and two children, David and Steve. She was later married to Allan Connelly for 20 years, until the couple divorced.

Margarite spent the last 55 plus year of her life in Mason City. She worked as a baker and cake decorator for Cash Wise and Hy-Vee. She was an excellent baker and made numerous birthday cakes for family members. She treasured her “visits” with family and friends. She absolutely loved holiday gatherings and always made sure her home was entirely decorated, which is a memory her grandchildren will cherish. Margarite was a loving mother and grandmother; she enjoyed spending time with her grandkids. Her hobbies included painting and playing lots of card games at Grant Village.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children: David (Lima) Eenhuis of Snyder, TX and Steve (Shirley) Eenhuis of Mason City;
grandchildren: Tyrone (Joanna) Jackson, Latoya (Josh) Moorehead, Nicole (Kyle) Cooper, James Eenhuis, Bryan (Maaike) Eenhuis and Tim Eenhuis; great-grandchildren: Maniya, Alanna, Stanley, Dedric, Ryleigh, Mia and Kailani; and sister, Judy Graham.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Lucille Keeper; brother, Dick Keeper and first husband, Melvin Eenhuis.
