- Jerry Lee LaFavre of Lakeville, Minnesota, went to
be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on March 9th, 2023. Since August,
Jerry has been given outstanding care by the staff at Burnsville's
Ebenezer Care Center.
Jerry was born July 16th, 1941, and grew up on his family’s farm east of
Klemme, Iowa. Jerry was the son of Clell (Pat) Earnest LaFavre and Iris
Mildred (Sherwood) LaFavre. He graduated from Klemme High School in 1959
and attended North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC) in Mason City,
Iowa.
Jerry loved meeting people and often asked “What is your story?” He had a
gregarious personality and a passion for encouraging others. Most of
Jerry’s career was spent as a salesperson. Jerry loved his family and
attended his family’s sporting events and parties with great pride and
joy.
Jerry married Joyce Hummel LaFavre, Burnsville, MN from 1962-1988. They
remained best friends until his passing. Together they were blessed with
three sons and two daughters, twenty grandchildren, and fifteen
great-grandchildren.
Those left to cherish the memories of Jerry’s life include:
Son-Scott LaFavre (Shari), Lakeville, MN, and their four children: Dustin
(Sarah) Christal (Eric) Brittney (John), and Bethany.
Son- Jeff LaFavre (Max), Burnsville, MN, and children: Landon and Lauren.
Son- Adam LaFavre (Kathy) Bradenton, FL, and six children: Alexis (Josh),
Austin, Alana (Richard), Austin, Taylor (Dillion), Gabriella, and Brock.
Daughter- Cherrié Peterson (Dr. Tim), Lakeville, MN, and four children:
Trey (Steph), Rachelle, Chante'l, and Trom.
Daughter- Rachelle Kallevig (Larry), Prior Lake, MN, and four children:
Paris, Ciara, Chanel, and Monet.
Jerry’s sister Margaret (Gus), Sasse, Mason City, IA., nephew Robert
(Kendra), and daughter Syndey.
Jerry’s Aunt Lavonne Emmons (age 104) lives in Rushford, Minnesota.
He was preceded in death by his Parents and Grandparents.
In his later years, he faithfully attended Christian Family Church.
Visitation will be at 1:00 p.m. And a Celebration of Life service will
follow on Good Friday, April 7th at 2 p.m. The visitation and service will
be held at Christian Family Church, located at, 7375 Bush Lake Rd., Edina,
MN 55439.
