- Mrs. Alvin Haupt dies at 51 years
Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at the Methodist church of
Belmond for Mrs. Alvin Haupt, 51, of Goodell. She had died the previous
Wednesday at Belmond Community hospital after an extended illness.
Rev. M. L. Jones officiated over the final rites and Johnston Funeral Home
was in charge. Burial was in the Belmond cemetery. Pallbearers were Dick
Barkema, Jr., Ira Langlitz, William Pals, Howard Dominy, Donald Mewes and
Arthur Lowenberg.
Esther Larson Haupt was born Aug. 28, 1910, near Williams, the daughter of
John and Mary Larson. Her family moved to Hancock county when she was a
young girl and she grew up to womanhood in the Klemme vicinity.
She was married on Dec. 13, 1932, to Alvin Haupt. One child was born to
them, a daughter Evelyn who is now Mrs. Lawrence Boller of Goodell. She
and her husband farmed near Goodell the last several years of her life.
Surviving besides her husband and daughter are her father, John Larson of
Klemme, and a grandchild. She also leaves four brothers, Harry and Jim
Larson of Belmond, Ralph Larson of Clear Lake and Elmer Larson of Ventura;
and four sisters: Mrs. Sylvia Early of Mason City, Mrs. Walter (Clara)
Lauden and Mrs. Herman (Lenora) Meints of Klemme and Mrs. William (Bessie)
Lindaman of Ackley,
She was preceded in death by her mother two years ago.
