- Adolph E. Lauritzen
Adolph E. "Abe" Lauritzen, 88, of 509 Walnut St., Beaver Dam, died
Tuesday, June 1, 1993 at Lakeview Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be Saturday, June 5, at 11 a.m. at Trinity Church
United Methodist with the Rev. Stephen Polster officiating. Buriel will be
in Oakwood Cemetery.
Mr. Lauritzen was born Nov. 25, 1904 in Ringsted, Iowa, the son of
Christian and Anne Marie (Sorensen) Lauritzen. He married Ada L. Friday on
June 3, 1928 in Lehigh, Iowa.
He received a B. A. Degree from Upper Iowa University in 1929, and his
mqasters degree from the University of Coloradoin 1938. He has worked as a
high school principal, superintendent, and county superintendent. He was
employed at Renwick, Iowa where he served as high school principal, taught
social studies and coached athletics. In 1950 he was President of the Iowa
State Education Assoc. Following 25 years in the education profession, he
and his family then moved to Beaver Dam in 1952, where he and his wife had
a partnership in Wynn Distributors of Wisconsin. He was a member of Trinty
Church United Methodist, the Dodge County Masonic Lodge #72, Roamers Club,
and was on the board of Drug and Alcohol Abuse Council for the State of
Wisconsin.
Survivors include his wife, Ada; one son, William (Susdan) Lauritzen,
Federal Way, Wash.; one daughter-in-law; four grandchildren; five
great-grandchildren; one sister, Emma Christensen, Ringsted, Iowa; nieces,
nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Jerald; and six brothers
and sisters.
There will be no visitation.
Koepsell Funeral Home, Beaver Dam is serving the family.

- Lauritzens To Leave Algona For Wisconsin
County Supt. A. E. Lauritzen was at his desk yesterday, Wednesday morning
sorting papers and filling the wastebasket preparatory to relinquishment of his
office Aug. 1.
........ The Lauritzens are to leave Algona Monday Aug. 4 for Beaver Dam, Wis.
........ Mr. Lauritzen served as president of the state education association in
1950-51.
........ Mr. Lauritzen will be the Wynn Oil Co. of Azusa, Calif, chief Wisconsin
representative and will supervise present sub-agencies.
........ Mr. Lauritzen relinquishes he superintendency after 12 year in office.
He came here from Parkersburg, where he was school superintendent three years.
Before Parkersburg he had served seven years as superintendent of the Ledyard
Consolidated school. Prior to that he held teaching positions at other points,
including Renwick, where he met his present Mrs. Lauritzen.
Born at Ringsted, Mr Lauritzen was graduated from high school at Garner when his
parents lived at near-by Klemme. He then entered Upper Iowa University, Fayette,
and was graduated with an A. B. degree. Later he obtained the master's degree at
the state university of Colorado at Boulder.
Mr. and Mrs. Lauritzen have two sons, Jerry and 'Bill'. Jerry a graduate of
Algona high school, has attended the State Teachers college three years and will
be graduated after another year. 'Bill' is a sophomore in high school.
