December 5, 1931 - June 19, 2019

Madelyn Paca, 87, of Garner, passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at Forest Plaza Assisted Living in Forest City.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M., Saturday, June 22, 2019 at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Duncan with Rev. Fr. Jim Dubert officiating. Burial will be at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery in Duncan.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 P.M., Friday, June 21st at Cataldo Funeral Chapel, 160 E. 4th St., Garner with a Scriptural wake service at 4:30 P.M. followed by a rosary.

Madelyn Pauline Paca, the daughter of Milo “Orris” and Lenora (Lawhorn) Lundy, was born December 5, 1931 in Clear Lake. She graduated from Klemme High School in 1949. On January 22, 1951, she was married to George Paca at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Duncan. They lived on the original Paca near Duncan and farms by Klemme and Hayfield before moving to Forest City in 1980. Madelyn helped George on the farm and was employed at Stitchcraft at Winnebago until her retirement. In 1991, Madelyn and George moved to Garner with Madelyn moving back to Forest City in 2017. She enjoyed her family, grandchildren, cross stitch, playing cards and camping.

She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church.

Madelyn is survived by her five children, Marty (Marlin) Mullnix of Cedar Falls, Mary (Rob) Cockburn of Edgewood, NM, Mike Paca of Garner, Marilyn Wilson of Urbandale and Marlene (Ron) Young of Forest City; nine grandchildren, Andy (Katie) Mullnix, Ellie (Ned) McKnight, Jenni (Derek) Kilbride, Angie (Devon) Ward, Bobby (Sara) Cockburn, Kelly Wilson, Sally Wilson, Joe Young and Ben (Ashley) Young; 16 great grandchildren; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Leonard and Monica Paca of Garner and Kenny and Dianne Paca of Garner; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; parents-in-law, Frank and Emma Paca; husband, George, Aug. 26, 1998; sister, Bernadine Standley; brothers-in- law, Don Standley and Ray Paca; and sister-in-law, Jean Paca.4 Bold
