Erdene "Dee" R. Halferty

1931 - 2001

Erdene "Dee" R. Halferty, 69, died September 21, 2001 at the Good Samaritan Center in Keosauqua. She was born October 29, 1931, in Klemme to Verner and Jennie Meinders Nelson. She graduated from Iowa Methodist School of Nursing and was a registered nurse in Des Moines for several years.

She married Robert G. Halferty December 26, 1952, in Klemme. She lived in Des Moines from 1950 to 1999, then she moved to Keosauqua.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Ardella Nelson.

She is survived by a daughter, Suzanne Rardin of Bloomfield; a son, Brian Halferty of Altoona; and three granddaughters.

The body was cremated. Graveside services will be held at a later date at the Ell Township Cemetery in Klemme.

She was born October 29, 1931 in Klemme to Verner and Jennie Meinderts Nelson. She married Robert G. Halferty on Dec. 26, 1952 at Klemme. She lived in Des Moines from 1950 to 1999 when she moved to Keosauqua. She graduated from Iowa Methodist School of Nusing and was a Registered Nurse in Des Moines for several years for Dr. Robert Foley.

She is survived by a daughter, Suzanne Rardin of Bloomfield; a son, Brian Halferty of Altoona; and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Ardella Nelson.

The body has been cremated. Graveside services will be held at a later date at the Ell Township Cemetery in Klemme. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Bloomfield United Methodist Church. The Wagler Funeral Home in Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.
