Services for Melvin E. Pearson, of Klemme, who died July 24 at the Hancock
County Memorial Hospital in Britt, were held July 26 at 1 p.m. at the
Immanuel Reformed United Church of Christ with Rev. Julius Rechtermann
officiating.
Music was provided by Gracka Gerardi, organist and soloist Gordon Beier.
Casket bearers were Kirk Pearson, Jerry Pearson, Steven Albers, Bill
Olson, Kevin Pearson and Chris Schultz Jr. Interment was in Ell Township
Cemetery, Klemme.
Tenold Funeral Homes was in charge of arrangements.
Melvin E. Pearson, son of Carl E. and Lillie (Bates) Pearson, was born
October 31, 1926, on a farm east of Klemme. He was educated at the Klemme
Public Schools, and graduated from high school in 1944.
He was a confirmed member of the Immanuel Reformed United Church of Christ
of Klemme. He served on the Sunday School Board and one term as deacon on
the consistory.
Melvin was united in marriage to Louise Albers on September 15, 1947, and
they farmed east of Klemme until 1982 when they retired and moved to
Klemme.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Louise, two daughters, VaLinda
of Minneapolis, Minn. and Rosalyn, stationed in Puerto Rico, one son, Kent
Pearson of Klemme, one sister, Ellen Pearson of Klemme, and two brothers,
Herbert and Carl Pearson, both of Klemme.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Francis.
