Obituary
Luther Irving Tanner was born January 18, 1909, and died October 28, 1937.
Age 28 years, 9 months and 10 days. He lived his entire life on the home
place.
He attended his home country school until he completed the grades. Then he
attended the Klemme High School from which he graduated in 1927. He was
interested in School athletics and played on the high school baseball and
basketball teams. For the last few years he has been playing baseball with
the Garner Red Sox and basketball with the Klemme Vagabonds.
He was made a life member of the Kings Herald of the Liberty Church when a

While his untimely death was a shock not only to his own loved ones, but
to the entire community, yet the disease germ had worked its way deeper
into his life than anyone had dreamed of. Our Sympathies as well as those
of the entire community and all who knew Luther, or "Mike" as he was
better known among his friends, go to the grief struck family.
Those who survive him are: his mother, Mrs. Rose Tanner; his brother,
Robert; three sisters, Florence at home, Bernice who is teaching school at
Madrid, and Francis who has a position in Chicago.
