Services held for Richard Tiggemann,
Jr., mishap victim
Funeral services for Richard Clarence Tiggemann, Jr., 18, Klemme, were held last
Friday, Nov. 15, at 1:30 p.m. from the United Methodist Church, with the Rev.
Donald Campbell officiating.
Richard, Jr., was killed in a traffic accident on Wednesday, Nov. 13, on highway
18 near Sanborn, Ia. It is reported that the car driven by Richard collided with
a truck driven by Glenn Arends Alvord, after the auto skidded on snow and
ice-covered pavement, Alvord escaped serious injury.
The honorary casket bearers were; Michael Krull, Brian Wichtendahl, Calvin Bolie,
and Dennis Robinson. The active casket bearers were; Thomas Roths, Rick Helps,
Dennis Kaduce, Verlyn Olthoff, Steven Denny, and Kenneth Ausborn.
He was laid to rest in the Klemme cemetery, and the Andrew Funeral Home was in
charge of arrangements.
Richard Clarence Tiggemann, Jr., was born September 4, 1956, in Mason City. He
was the son of Richard and Fern (Krull) Tiggemann.
Richard was baptized at the age of five in the Methodist Church in Algona. He
attended the kindergarten in Algona in 1961. The family moved back to Klemme in
the summer of 1962, and Richard attended school from the first grade through
high school in Klemme. He graduated from the Klemme high school on May 17, 1974.
Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Tiggemann of Klemme; a
sister, Joan at home, his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. William Tiggemann
of Klemme; and his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. F. J. Krull of Titonka.
