- Rites for former Klemme Resident
Funeral services for Lowell C. Ulrich, Mason City, who died Monday after a
lingering illness. were held Wednesday at the First Presbyterian church in
Mason City. The Rev. Robert G. Buttrick, officiated.
Mrs. Howard F. Dodge was organist, Mrs. Carroll Garland was in charge of
flowers. Ushers were Kenneth Hedrick and John Jannsen. Pallbearers were
Raymond Christians, Donald Davis, Donald Merkel, Marvin Wade, Martin
Bachman and Clarence Christians. Burial was at the Ell Township Cemetery,
Klemme. Military rites were conducted at the grave by American Legion Post
625 of Klemme. Wayne Buseman and Benn Coobs folded the flag.
Lowell Clare Ulrich was born December 22, 1928, in Mason City, son of
Lloyd and Clara (Merkel) Ulrich. He was raised in Klemme by his
grandmother, Mrs. Anna Ulrich. He was a veteran of World War II, having
served in the U.S. Army, and was a member of the First Presbyterian
church.
Surviving are his wife; Helen, two children, Wanda Kaye and Michael Jay,
at home; a grandmother, Mrs. Anna Ulrich, Clear Lake; his father, and
step-mother, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Ulrich, Mason City; two brothers, Richard
Ulrich, Klemme; Merlyn Ulrich, Mason City; a half brother, Ronald Ulrich,
Mason City; five half sisters; Mrs. Jewel (Charlene) Jensen, Mrs. Donald
(Roberta) Meyers, Mrs. Ronald (Joan) Wood, Beverly and Linda Ulrich, all
of Mason City. He was preceded in death by his mother, two grandfathers
and a grandmother.
