Shell Rock - Kay June Andreae, 75, of Shell Rock, died Monday, May 5, at
Allen Hospital, Waterloo, of natural causes.
She was born June 26, 1927, in rural Fayette, daughter of Albert and Pearl
Conner Dumermuth. She married Robert Andreae Aug. 3, 1947, in Fayette.
She attended Upper Iowa University and received her degree in education in
1947. She and her husband moved to Klemme where she taught home economics.
In 1956 the couple moved to Shell Rock, and Mrs. Andreae taught home
economics with the Shell Rock and Waverly-Shell Rock School systems,
retiring in 1983.
Survived by: her husband; two daughters, Christine Mary of Ankeny and
Constance (Robert) Saunders of Rochester, Minn.; three grandchildren; a
great-grandchild; a brother, Derryl Dumermuth of Tulare, Calif; two
sisters, Iola Jensen of West Union and Opal Fay of Fayette; and a
sister-in-law, Irene Dumermuth of Fayette.
Preceded in death by: a brother, Eldred Dumermuth; a sister, Eva Moschel;
and a son-in-law, Richard Mary.
Services: 11 a.m. Thursday at Faith Lutheran Church, with burial in
Riverside Cemetery, both in Shell Rock. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m.
Wednesday at Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home, Shell Rock.
Memorials may be directed to the Faith Lutheran Building Fund.
