Marvin Claire Batchelder

1914 - 1986

 

Marvin C. Batchelder, 71, of Clearfield, Utah, formerly of Marion. died June 13, in his home following an extended illness.

He was born July 27,1914, at Springville. He married Marion Maynard on May 29, 1936, at Moline, Ill. Mr. Batchelder graduated from the University of Iowa in 1936. He was a Clearfield resident for the past 29 years and was a member of Clearfield Community Church. He worked as a supervisory air munitions specialist at Hill Air Force Base, Utah, retiring in 1974 after 32 years of civil service work.

Surviving in addition to his wife are four daughters, Lucy Dunn of San Angelo, Texas, Mary Charlton of Santa Fe, N.M., Rebecca Malouff of Antonito, Colo., and Alice Wilson of Syracuse, Utah; three sons, Michael of Delaware, Ohio, David of Seattle, and John of Eden, Utah; 19 grandchildren; a sister, Frances Taylor of Alburnett.

A memorial service was held June 17 at Clearfield Community Church. Graveside services will be Sunday afternoon, July 27, at Cedar Memorial Cemetery, with Michael Batchelder officiating. A Memorial endowment for Camp Utaba will be established through Clerarfield Community Church.
