- Ruth Surbaugh, 89, of Karen Acres Nursing Home, 3605
Elm Drive, Urbandale, died of pneumonia there Friday. Services will be at
10 a.m. Tuesday at Slade-O'Donnell Funeral Home in Leon, with burial at
Lewisburg Cemetery in Wayne County.
Mrs. Surbaugh, a farmer, was born in Decatur County and lives in the Des
Moines area 18 years.
Survivors include a daughter, Shirley Fennell of Des Moines; a sister,
Esther Beacom of Florida; two grandchildren; and three
great-grandchildren.
Friends may call after 9 a.m. Monday at the Funeral home, where the family
will be present from 7 to 8 p.m.
