- Franklin C. Cappon Jr., 80, of Fulton and formerly
of Cleveland, Ohio, died Saturday, April 29, 2006, at his home. He was
born in Ann Arbor, Mich., the son of the late Franklin "Cappy" Cappon and
the late Henrietta B. Van Putten.
His father was head basketball coach at Luther College, University of
Kansas, University of Michigan and Princeton University. His father is
remembered in the Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, Mass.

- Frank proudly served in the Navy as a Signalman
during World War II.
He attended Luther College, receiving a teaching degree. Upon graduation
he accepted a position as an English teacher in Klemme, Iowa.
He was a systems engineer at Delaval Turbine in New Jersey and was also
the vice president of marketing at Eaton Corporation in Cleveland, Ohio.
He retired from there after 20 years and moved to Winter Haven, Fla. In
1998, after the death of his first wife, he moved to Fulton, Mississippi.
