Fort Collins, Colo. - Marshfield native Eugene E. Fischer, 72, Fort
Collins, Colo., died Dec. 18 at Poudre Valley Hospital.
Services were Dec. 21 at Faith Evangelical Free Church, Fort Collins, with
the Revs. James E. Olson, Forest Saylor and Edmund Kuppinger officiating.
Burial was in Resthaven Memory Gardens, Fort Collins.
He was born Aug. 25, 1918, in Marshfield, and lived here until he entered
the service. He was in the U.S. Army for 4 1/2 years and served during
World War II in the Pacific. He was wounded on Okinawa. He married Grace
M. Franke Aug. 2, 1947, in Chicago.
He moved to Fort Collins from Iowa in 1960. He was a retired teacher and
had taught at Fort Collins High School for three years. He also worked as
a carpenter.
He was a member of Faith Evangelical Free Church and the Christian
Business Men's Association.
He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Susan Carpenter of Kenya and
Carol Bizel of Sabana Grande, Puerto Rico; three sons, Jerry of Miami
Springs, Fla., and John and Glenn, both of Loveland, Colo.; one sister,
Nelda Swenson of Marshfield; two brothers, Melvin of Oshkosh and Maynard
of Emerado, N.D.; and six grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Faith Evangelical Free Church
Building Fund in care of Warren-Bohlender Funeral Chapel, Fort Collins.
