Last Rites Held Sunday for Mrs. Henry Jost
Mrs. Helen Jost, 61, long time resident of Klemme, died at her home
Thursday evening, November 13, 1952.
Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Vernon E. Jaberg, at the
Evangelical and Reformed Church Sunday afternoon, November 16.
The singers were Harvey Barz, Mrs. A. H. Dulmes and Mr. and Mrs. Raymond
Barz with Mrs. Ernest Gerardi at the organ.
The casket rested among a bank of beautiful chrysanthemum flowers which
were silent conveyors of the love and esteem of friends and relatives.
Interment on the family lot of the Ell Township Cemetery at Klemme, Iowa.
Mrs. Helen Louise nee Bielefeld Jost, daughter of Charles Bielefeld and
Marie Louise Nagel, was born on February 13, 1891, near Thornton, Iowa.
She received her schooling in the rural schools in the vicinity of
Thornton. Her residence throughout her life has been in the vicinity of
Klemme, Iowa. Mrs. Jost or "Helen" as she was affectionately known, was a
very ambitious person having labored with her husband in business and for
the Klemme Public Schools and recently at Thada's Store.
Mrs. Jost was a member of the Immanuel Evangelical and Reformed Church and
of the Women's Guild, having served this organization as president. She
was also a member of the Royal Neighbors and of the Women's Auxilary of
the American Legion.
She was united in Holy Marriage with Mr. Henry Jost on May 9, 1940 in a
ceremony performed by the Rev. Calvin Grosshuesch, then pastor of the
Immanuel Evgangelical and Reformed Church.
Mrs. Jost lived a very busy life until the time of the failure of her
health. She had been ailing for several months and had been confined to
her home since the early part of October. She was called to her eternal
reward on the afternoon of Thursday, November 13, having attained the age
of 61 years and 9 months.
Mrs. Jost was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband, three children; Helen Wilma Masterson,
Wayne Stanley Hurd, and Phyllis Jean Lamphers. She is also survived by two
sisters; Mrs. Fleeda Wooten of Des Moines, Iowa, Mrs. Atlanta Thompson, of
Klemme, Iowa and one brother, Adrain Bielefeld of Dogherty, Iowa. Also
surviving are four grandchildren and one step-son, Harold Jost and many
distant relatives and a host of friends and acquaintances.
