Gladys Lewis, 68, services Thursday

Klemme - Mrs. Ernest (Gladys) Lewis, 68, died Monday May 22, at Belmond Community hospital.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 25, at the United Methodist church in Klemme. The Rev. Howard Eldenkamp will officiate. Burial will be in Klemme Cemetery with Willim-Andrew Funeral Home in charge.

Born April 24, 1904, in Grundy County, she was the daughter of Barney and Lizzie Brumm Franz. She was graduated from Grundy Center High School and Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls. She taught in Wright and Hancock counties and retired from the Klemme School in 1969. She had been in failing health the last five years.

She was married Nov. 5, 1936, to Ernest Lewis in Rowan. He died in 1961. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Hancock County Historical Society and the American Legion Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a sister, and a brother. The only survivors are nieces and nephews.

--- The pallbearers for the Gladys Lewis, 68, services were; Virgil Goodrich, Bill Friedow, Phillip Bushman, Velere Stromer, R. E. Lee Aldrich III, and Paul Rietz.

Music supplied was by singers; Mrs. Russell Thorson, and Mrs. Roy Arnold, with Mrs. Noel Katter as organist. The songs used were, "The Lord's Prayer," and "How Great Thou Art."

Her services were held Thursday, May 25, from the United Methodist church at Klemme.
