Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 15, 1993, 1 p.m. at Champion
Funeral Home, Osage, for Neva N. Behrns, 92, of Faith Home. She died
Sunday, April 11, 1993. Reverend Clark Christian of United Methodist
Church will officiate and burial will be in the Osage Cemetery. Visitation
is after 3 p.m. Wednesday at Champion Funeral Home. The family will
receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
Neva was born July 13, 1900 at Bradgate, IA, the daughter of James M. and
Mattie (Imus) Lovrien. She graduated from Eagle Grove High School in 1918.
Neva received her teachers certificate from Iowa State Teachers College in
Cedar Falls. She taught school in several Iowa Communities.
In June of 1935, Neva married Lester Behrns in Algona. They lived in Osage
until 1939 when Lester died. Neva then moved to the family farm near
Orchard. In 1942 she moved into Orchard and taught school in Orchard and
Floyd. In 1951 she moved to Osage. Neva had been a resident of Faith Home
for the past two years.
She was a member of United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Lester; four sisters and
three brothers.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Richard (Janice) Wilson of Casper,
WY; two sisters, Mrs. Roger (Mary) Middleton of Eagle Grove and Miss Rose
Lovrien of Fort Dodge; one grand-daughter, Wendy Jane Wilson of Casper,
