- Fern Engstrom

Fern Engstrom, 88, of Salem died Saturday.
She was born in Mercer County, Mo., and graduated from Graceland and
Maryville Teachers College. She was a high school economics teacher in Des
Moines, Iowa until moving to Salem in 1962. She was a member of Market
Street Church of Christ and enjoyed reading.

- Her husband, Norman, died in 1984, and three
brothers preceded her in death.
Survivors include her sisters, Ardyce McDaniel and Lois Boswell, both of
Iowa, and Rosemary Brockus of Texas; and one brother, Chester McDaniel of
Iowa.
Services and interment will be at 10 a.m. today at City View Cemetery.
Arrangements are by Barrick Funeral Home.
