Melvin Leroy Neuberger

1904 - 1966

 

 

Melvin Neuberger services held Sat.

Melvin Leroy Neuberger, 62, died Wednesday, Dec. 14, at the Belmond hospital after a two week illness. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Saturday at the Klemme Methodist Church. The Rev. J. E. Albertson officiated using Psalm 59:10 as his text.

Mrs. Russel Thorson, Mrs. Roy Arnold, Mrs. Robert Johnson and Mrs. Steve Brunes sang "How Great Thou Art" and "O Jesus I Have Promised," accompanied by Mrs. Robert Schulz, organist.

Interment was made in Ell Township Cemetery, Klemme, with the Johnston Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers were Orville Bridges, Martin Barz, Clifford Montgomery, Glen Bridges, Harvey Barz and Richard Ax.

Melvin L. Neuberger was born in Butler County on April 1, 1904, the son of Lewis and Sena (Loger) Neuberger. As a youth he received his elementary education in Butler County and later in Hancock County. He and the family moved to Klemme in 1914.

On August 23, 1931, he was united in marriage to Millie Halverson at St. Ansgar, and together they had made their home in Klemme. Mr. Neuberger had been in the hardware business in Klemme for over 35 years.

Surviving are his wife, Millie; two children, Mrs. Valere (Elaine) Nelson, Forest City, and Allan Neuberger, Pico Riveria, California; four grandchildren, Patricia, Jeffrey and Sally Nelson and Paige Neuberger. Two brothers, Donald of Clear Lake and Lester of Klemme, one sister, Mrs. Pearl Lemke, Klemme, and a half sister, Mrs. Cora Hippen of LuVerne, also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Mrs. Lulu Hoffman.
