- Claudia M. Overgaard, 95, Lincoln, passed away
Tuesday (12/18/07). Born in Plymouth, Iowa to Anton and Lena (Hunchis)
Michalek. Graduated from Iowa State Teachers College and taught elementary
students for 15 years.
Married to the late Gunner Overgaard in 1941. Claudia was an avid bridge
player, active at Grace Lutheran Church (past president LCW, Christian
Action choir, taught Sunday School for 12 years), and a volunteer at the
Gathering Place and Meals on Wheels for over 20 years.
Survived by sister Goldie M. Holden, daughter Mary Overgaard and
son-in-law David Cook, grandson Nels Overgaard-Cook Wadycki and wife
Valerie Wadycki, nieces and nephews.
Services: Memorial service: 11 a.m. Friday (12/21/07) at Grace Lutheran
Church, 2225 Washington. Burial in Lincoln Memorial Park.
Visitation: 2-9 p.m. Thursday (12/20/07) with family greeting from 3-5
p.m. at Roper & Sons, 4300 O St. Memorials to Lincoln East Rotary, Grace
Lutheran Church and Rotary Scholarship Fund. Condolences or personal
