- Agnes Patet dies at 66 in California
Mrs. Milo H. (Agnes Galbreth) Patet, 66, formerly of Mason City, died
Tuesday at Granada Hills Community Hospital in Granada Hills, Calif. She
had lived in Sylmar, Calif. where she taught school until retiring a year
ago.
Born in Philadelphia Oct. 28, 1904, she was the daughter of the Rev. and
Mrs. William Galbreth. They came to Mason City where he was pastor of
Wesley (then Olivet Zion) Methodist Church four years and then associate
pastor of First Methodist Church with Dr. Charles Flynn.
Agnes Galbreth was graduated from Plymouth High School in 1921 and Upper
Iowa University, Fayette, in 1925. She taught school in Kanawha, Manila,
St. Ansgar, Klemme and Orange City before her marriage to Milo H. Patet of
Klemme in 1941.
Surviving are her husband of Sylmar; a daughter, Miss Alix Patet, a
graduate assistant at the University of California in Berkley; a sister,
Mrs. J. W. VanDeest, Granada Hills; and a brother, Henry Galbreth, Des
Moines.
Private funeral services are pending with Nobel Funeral Home, San
Fernando, Calif., in charge. The family has suggested that memorials in
her name be sent to the Heart Fund.
