Belmond - Funeral services for Mrs. Helma Proper, 68, of Belmond, who died
Monday at the hospital here, were Thursday afternoon at Belmond. Burial
was in the Amsterdam Cemetery, Goodell, with the Fulton Funeral Home in
charge.
Mrs. Proper, who taught in the Algona School System until her retirement
is survived by a step-daughter, Mrs. George (Nona) Lane, Albia; two
sisters, Mrs. Paul (Ina Mae) Halfpop and Mrs. Hauko (Betty) Barkema, both
of Belmond; and a brother, Joseph Burgess, Goodell.
