- Last Rites For Lorna Turner, 81
Funeral services for Lorna F. Tuner, Rodman, Iowa, were Saturday, February
6, 1988 at the Schellhammer Funeral Home in West Bend with the Rev. Robert
Lee Smith, pastor of the United Methodist Church West Bend, officiating.
Burial at Riverside Cemetery in Rodman.
Casket bearers were: Ralph Banwart, John Thompson, Robert Besch, Daniel
Fehr, Ronald Thilges, and William Helmke.
Lorna F. Sanders, daughter of Fred and Mildred Lyon Sanders was born
October 22, 1906 in Cedar Falls, Iowa. She was raised and educated in
Jainesville, Iowa, graduating from Jainesville High School. She also
graduated from Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls. She was united
in marriage with R. O. (Jack) Turner on May 27, 1934 in Ames, Iowa. The
couple lived in Rodman the majority of their married lives. Lorna taught
school at Klemme, Nevada, and Rodman, Iowa. Mrs. Turner died Wednesday,
February 3, 1988 at West Bend Care Center of cardiac arrest, having
reached the age of 81 years.
Survivors include her husband R. O. (Jack) of Rodman and a daughter,
Mildred Worster of Yellville, Arkansas. Four grandchildren and 9
great-grandchildren survive; two brothers, Burton Sanders of Cedar Falls,
and Charles Sanders of Ames; three sisters, Ruth Loney of Little Cedar,
Iowa, Margaret Sherman of Hot Springs, Arkansas and Vera Day of Norcross,
Georgia.
She was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Rodman.
Mrs. Turner was preceded in death by her parents, one son, and one
brother.
