Schmidt at Peace reformed church.
She was instructed in the faith of Jesus Christ and upon age of
discernment she was confirmed in that faith by the Rev. Robert Stuebbe at
Peace Reformed church. She continued a faithful and life long member of
this congregation.
Before her long illness she has been active in the life and worship of her
church. She served as Sunday School and Bible School teacher, and until
her illness had been active in choir and was faithful in the Women's
Missionary Society meetings and studies.
On July 14, 1962, she was joined in marriage by the Rev. Chester Ploeger

Mrs. Schumpp's recent life was one of sorrow and much suffering. In God's
providence some six years ago she was afflicted with a brain tumor. She
submitted to two major surgeries at Rochester, Minn. Medical science had
done all that it could. It was not God's will that she should recover.
After severe and intense suffering God took her home early last Thursday
morning. She died in the Belmond Community Hospital where her sisters were
faithfully at her side. She had attained the age of 38 years, 11 months,
and 27 days.
She leaves in sorrow one child, Mary Elizabeth, and three sisters, Miriam
(Mrs. Stanley Peter) of Garner; Abiail (Mrs. Robert Jacobsen) of Dows; and
Eunice (Mrs. Donald Larson) of Livermore; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Mrs. Gerald Howell.
