Charles A. Valley

1932 - 2022

 

Charles A Valley, age 89, passed away on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 in San Antonio, Texas. Chuck was born on August 12, 1932 in
Woden, Iowa to Ray and Blanche Valley.

After graduating from Woden High School, he served proudly in the U.S Navy from 1950-1954 as an aviation mechanic. Upon being
honorably discharged, he attended Iowa State Teachers College where he earned a Bachelor of Arts as well as a Master of Arts in
Education. Chuck went on to earn a Professional Diploma in Education from the University of Wyoming and became certified by the
National Board for Certified Counselors. He spent his entire career guiding and mentoring others to reach their fullest potential.

 

After retiring as a counselor at Taft High School, he and his lovely wife enjoyed traveling across country in their travel trailer. Their favorite spot over the last several was Harrahs Casino in Laughlin, Nevada. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend to many.

Even from a distance, he beamed with joy as he spoke of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Blanche Valley; brothers Ivan, Stan and Jim Valley; sisters Charlotte, Eva Ruth and
Hazel; daughter Mona (Mike) Tankersley.

 

Charles is survived by his wife, sister, children, step children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.
