Jerry H. Wallentine, 61, of Mesa, Ariz., died of complications from a
seizure and a respiratory ailment Dec. 23 at Desert Samaritan Hospital
there. Memorial services were held Tuesday in Mesa.
Mr. Wallentine was born in Des Moines and grew up in Boone and Iowa Falls.
He lived in Des Moines 10 years before moving to Arizona in 1991. He had
been a band director and music instructor, a music store representative to
schools, and a liaison for a pictorial church directory company in Iowa
before his health forced him to retire.
His wife Sophie survives.
Meldrum Mortuary in Mesa handled arrangements.
