- Mae W. Gruetzmacher
Marshalltown, Ia. - Mae W. Gruetzmacher, 90, of Marshalltown died of a
heart ailment Saturday at Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Merle Hay Funeral Home in Des
Moines. Entombment will be in Merle Hay Mausoleum there.
Mrs. Gruetzmacher was born in Kawanee, Ill., and lived in Nevada before
moving to Marshalltown. She had been a teacher at St. Pius X Catholic
School in Des Moines, the Des Moines Public Schools and Britt. She was a
member of Order of Eastern Star and First United Church.
Surviving are two sons, Roger of Irving, Texas, and James of Marshalltown;
six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 1 to 9 p.m. Monday at Estel-Perrin-Avey Funeral Home
and after 8 a.m. Tuesday at Merle Hay Funeral Home. A memorial fund is
being established.
