1925 - 2017

Norris Wayne Bird Sr.
April 4, 1925 - 23 June 2017

Bethany - On Friday, June 23, 2017, we said a momentary goodbye to our loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Great-Grandfather Norris Wayne Bird, Sr. Wayne was born on April 4, 1925 to Arthur and Beulah Bird in Hampton, Iowa.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Frank & Dick.

Wayne is survived by his wife Carol, children Sherry Kubat, Norris Wayne (Skip) Bird, Jr. (Phyllis), Cindy Rankin (Rick), Jeffry Mardis (Lolita), Robert Bird (Debbie), Nicholas Bird (Jill), and Michelle Bingham (Rick). He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

We are so proud of Wayne's service to our country in the U.S. Navy between 1943 and 1954, where he served in both WWII and the Korean Conflict. He loved telling his family of the stories of his fellow shipmates and the horror and heroism he experienced.

Wayne touched many lives through his family, friends, and many successful business endeavors and will be sorely missed. "May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who has loved us and given us everlasting, comfort and hope, which we don't deserve, comfort your hearts with all comfort?"
