John Lewis Bisom was born January 15, 1935 in Klemme, Iowa to Margaret Luella (Butler) and Vernon John Bisom. He attended school and grew up in the same area and enlisted in the United States Air Force shortly after graduation.

During his career in the service John was stationed throughout the US and Asia finally stationed at Elmendorf Air Force Base in Anchorage, Alaska. John loved Alaska and he chose to retired and settle here. He began his second career with the SOA Department of Labor and met and married Marie Schneider in 1975. After Faye's passing several years ago John traveled a bit visiting friends and family in the lower 48.
