Master Sgt. David LaVerne Brekke, Jr., US Air Force, Ret., 52, of Moncks Corner,
SC, died Sunday morning in a North Charleston hospital.
All services will be private according to Dial-Murray Funeral Home, Moncks
Corner. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Make A
Wish Foundation, PCC Box 1115, Charleston, SC 29403.
Master Sgt. Brekke was born Nov. 4, 1958, in Norfolk, VA, a son of David L.
Brekke, Sr., and Arnetta Franks Brekke Chamberlin. He was of the Lutheran faith
and was a veteran of the Gulf War. He was currently working as an associate at
Wal-Mart. Master Sgt. Brekke loved the outdoors and enjoyed camping and hiking.
He also liked music and reading.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Rick
Brekke.
Surviving are, his mother of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; his father of Norfolk, VA; four
brothers, Mike Brekke of Moncks Corner, Robert Brekke of Jefferson, GA, and Bill
and Joe Brekke both of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; and many nieces and nephews.
