Private Family Funeral Services for Lavonne I. Giovenazzo will be held on Wednesday at Trimble Funeral Home, Moline. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4-7 at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Amsterdam Cemetery, Goodell, Iowa at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Lavonne Giovenazzo memorial fund.

Lavonne died on Saturday, January 12, 2002 at Trinity West Medical Center, Rock Island. Lavonne was born on August 23, 1926 in Goodell, Iowa to Ray and Verna Mae Spitler Christie. She married Samuel G. Giovenazzo on September 14, 1946 in East Moline.

Lavonne worked for Herman Nelson Co. in Moline and also for Moores Business Form in California. Lavonne was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in East Moline. She enjoyed all the arts, especially music. She also enjoyed ceramics and roller skating in her youth. She was a former member of the East Moline Eastern Star.

Lavonne is survived by her husband Sam; a son, Michael (Giovenazzo) Christie of Moline; a half brother, Merle Ericson of Bettendorf; a half sister, Colleen Bruckman of East Moline and a special friend, Nancy J. Fritsch of Rock Island.
