Services Thursday for Mrs. Frances Trees

Funeral services for Mrs. Harland (Frances May) Trees will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 29 in the Presbyterian Church in Saratoga, Iowa with the Reverends Paul and Nancy Tomlinson officiating, Mrs. Trees passed away Monday, March 26 in the Mitchell County Memorial Hospital in Osage from a heart failure.

Mrs. Trees was born January 18, 1898 in Klemme, Iowa, the daughter of Henry and Mary Church. On December 31, 1919, she was united in marriage to Harland Leo Trees, and they came to this region in 1953. To this union, three children were born.

Mrs. Trees attended schools in Garner and Rowan, Iowa, and the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls. She was a homemaker, but in earlier years, taught school. She was a member of the Happy Hour Club.

She is survived by her husband, Harland, Riceville; one daughter, Mrs. William Beiner, Dike, Iowa; one son, Duane Trees, Greene, Iowa; one brother, Burr Church, Klemme, Iowa; three sisters, Adna Ward, Klemme, Iowa; Octave Anderson, Britt, Iowa and Lois Craw, Eagle Creek, Oregon; 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Mary Lynn; and one brother, Cyril Church.

Interment will be in the Saratoga Cemetery with the Conway Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Frances Trees

Funeral services for Mrs. Harlan (Frances M.) Trees, 86, of Riceville were Thursday, March 29 at the Saratoga Presbyterian Church, Saratoga.

She died on Monday, March 26, 1984, at Mitchell County Memorial Hospital. The Reverend Paul and the Reverend Nancy Tomlinson officiated at the service with burial in the Saratoga Cemetery, Saratoga.

Mrs. Trees was a graduate of Iowa State Teacher's College, Cedar Falls and was a former teacher in Minnesota.

Survivors include her husband Harland; one daughter, Mrs. William Beiner of Dike; one son, Duane of Greene; 12 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
