Funeral services were held at Bethlehem Lutheran church, Mason City, Tuesday. The Rev. C. A. Hinz, pastor of the church, was in charge. Mrs. William Calkins sang the hymns, "Nearer My God to Thee" and "What a Friend We have in Jesus" accompanied at the organ by Mrs. C. A. Hinz.

Pallbearers were George Gelner, Norman Ruehlow, Edward Harboson, Everett Barkhurst, Robert Wolfe and Clarence Schellsmidt. The body was laid to rest in Concord cemetery, Garner.

The deceased attended school at Hayfield and Mason City. He was confirmed in Bethlehem Lutheran church, Mason City, in April of 1947.

He enlisted in the U.S. Army in May, 1947, and served 18 months with Guard Co. G.H.Q. in Japan. He was discharged early this year and had been clerking in a store since that time.

Preceding him in death were his father, one sister and one brother. He is survived by his mother, three sisters - Mrs. Owen Taylor of Hayfield, Mrs. Max Howick of Ft. Dodge and Mrs. Edward Jackson of Mason City; and five brothers - Beldon, Merle, Jimmie, Bobby and Darlye - all of Mason City.
