Lyle Eugene, the son of Carl Sr. and Etta (Harms) Heginger was born March 23, 1936, in Klemme. He grew up around the Klemme area where he attended school. At an early age, Lyle began helping his father working for Hancock county road maintenance and delivered newspapers. Lyle was a great assistance to his parents, and, including Lyle, eleven brothers and sisters.

Lyle was united in marriage to Carol Sue Schmidt at the United Methodist Church in Belmond on June 15, 1957. The couple made their home in and around Belmond. Lyle and Carol Sue were blessed with five children, Lisa, Jeffrey, Lori, Debra and Jeanne.

Lyle worked at the powdered milk factory in Britt, and for the railroad for a short time. He was employed by the McLaughlin Brothers Chevrolet Dealership in Belmond for a time and owned and operated a "Nite-Crawler" business for numerous years. Lyle was even referred to as "Nite-Crawler" on the C.B. radio. It was at Hagie Manufacturing in Clarion, where Lyle would work for the majority of his working career. Thirty years, Lyle worked as a metal cutter for the Clarion manufacturer. Throughout his life, Lyle loved to fish, mainly at the local lakes of Hancock and Wright counties, but he had fond memories of a fishing trip to Canada. Raising and picking black raspberries at his Belmond home was a life's pleasure of Lyle's. Many were picked and sold to the people of Belmond. Gardening was also a great love of Lyle's.

Lyle was a longtime and active member of the United Methodist Church in Belmond.

Lyle is survived by his wife, Carol Sue, children, Lisa Nine (Chuck) of Eagle Grove, Lori Tynan (Steven) of Mason City, Jeffrey of Fort Dodge, Jeanne Altman (Jamie) of Algona, three grandchildren, Kristina Tynan, Amanda Tynan, Megan Altman, sisters, Zelda Scott of Clear Lake, Sharon Reysack of Garner, Edna VanGerpen (John) of Marion, brothers, Carl Jr. (Darlene) of Klemme, Tony (Elizabeth) of Klemme, Rick of the Philippines, sister-in-law, Shirley of Belmond, Carol Sue's family, Jim Schmidt (Sandy) Arizona, Jeane Tuckfield of Kansas, Ken Rickert of California, and numerous other nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.
