Lois A. Happel

Alexander- Mrs. Lois A. Happel, 61, of Alexander, died of leukemia Sunday (Dec 30, 1990) at North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City.

Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Latimer, with the Rev. Dennis Arndt officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Happel was born Oct. 14, 1929 on a farm south of Klemme to Emil and Ella (Haberkamp) Lau. She began her education in a rural school, graduating from Klemme High School. She received her teaching certificate from Waldorf College and taught in the Ventura and Kanawha school districts.

On March 12, 1955, she was married to Richard Happel at Immanuel Reformed Church in Klemme. She farmed with her husband southeast of Alexander.

She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Latimer.

Visitation is from 3 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Willim Funeral Home in Latimer, with a public prayer service at 7 Tuesday night at the funeral home.

Survivors include her husband, Richard; one daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Dennis Brown, of Newhall; one son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Kris Happel, of Forest City; two granddaughters, Liska and Erin Brown, of Newhall; two brothers, Paul Lau and Verner Lau, both of Garner.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Allen.
