Lloyd Lebeck

1914 - 1981

 
Lloyd Lebeck, 66, of rural Shell Rock, died Tuesday morning, May 5, at his home, after suffering several years with emphysema.

Lloyd was born the son of Alfred and Ethel Neff Lebeck, July 24, 1914, at Harlan. He received his education at Harlan, and on December 25, 1940 he married Nettie Remley at Waverly. Lloyd and his family farmed near Clarksville until Lloyd's retirement in 1970, when he and Nettie moved to their present home. Lloyd was a member of the First United Church of Christ, Pleasant Valley.

Survivors include his wife, Nettie; four sons, Larry of Silt, CO.; Ronald and Donald of Clarksville; Robert of Greene; one daughter, Mrs. Gary (Peggy) Dean of Shell Rock; 12 grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. John Incontro of Omaha, NB.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and one daughter, who died in 1944.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, May 7, at Pleasant Valley, with Rev. Merlin Dietrich officiating. Mrs. William Nieman was the organist, and the Congregation sang.

Casketbearers were Kenneth Bailey, Arnold Wilken, Alfred Rieman, Eldon Renning, Jim Hoerman, and William Nieman.

Burial was in Willow Lawn cemetery at Plainfield, Iowa.
