Ardella Jean Nelson

1925 - 2001

 

Ardella J. Nelson, 75, died Monday, May 21, 2001 at Good Shepherd Care Center in Mason City. Interment was at Ell Township Cemetery near Klemme. Funeral services were held Thursday, May 24, at United Methodist Church in Klemme, with Rev. Curtis DeVance officiating. Music was provided by Muriel Schulz, organist. Usher was Everett Guth. Casket bearers were Calvin Bruggeman, Raymond Schoenwetter, Robert Scott, and Arlyn Waddinghm.

Ardella Jean Nelson, daughter of Verner and Jenny (Meinderts) Nelson was born August 17, 1925, in Hancock County. She attended and graduated from the Klemme High School and attended Hamilton Business College in Mason City. She worked in Mason City for a time before going to Madison, WI, where she was the secretary for the Bishop of the First United Methodist Church in Madison. She later started her own copying business in Madison. Ardella moved back to Klemme and after her health began to fail, she entered the Good Shepherd Care Center in Mason City.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors are a sister, Erdene Halferty of Keosauqua; niece, Sue Rardin and her husband Bill of Bloomfield; a nephew, Brian Halferty of Altoona.

Ardella Jean Nelson, daughter of Verner and Jenny (Meinderts) Nelson was born August 17, 1925, in Hancock County, Iowa.

She attended and graduated from the Klemme High School and attended Hamilton Business College in Mason City, Iowa. She worked in Mason City for a time before going to Madison, Wisconsin, where she was the secretary for the Bishop of the First United Methodist Church in Madison. She later started her own copying business in Madison.

She moved back to Klemme, Iowa; and after her health began to fail she entered the Good Shepherd Care Center in Mason City, where she died on Monday, May 21, 2001.

She is survived by a sister, Erdene Halferty of Keosauqua, IA; niece, Sue Rardin and her husband, Bill of Bloomfield, IA; and nephew, Brian Halferty of Altoona, IA.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
